I LOVED THIS BOOK it was actually my favorite book in 2015. I can't get over that creepy ending or the amazing characters. Do yourself a favor and read this book.
2 Play Me Backwars by Adam Selzer (222 ratings)
This was my favorite book of 2014! The humor and the characters in this book shine. If you've ever felt like you're not living up to your potential you'll relate to Leon.
3 The Secrets of Lily Graves by Sarah Strohmeyer (1,694 ratings)
I didn't guess who the killer was in this novel and that impressed me.

Calvin isn't sure if the giant tiger Hobbs following him around is real or a figment of his imagination. His walk across a frozen Lake Erie in search of the creator of Calvin and Hobbs is definitely real though. Right?
5 Mistwalker by Saundra Mitchell (563 ratings)
This book has such a great sense of place. The atmosphere is everything.

I keep looking for more information on the sequel to this book. I think that tells you something about how much I liked it!
7 Second Star by Alyssa Sheinmel (1,751 ratings)
Wendy goes in search of her missing surfer brothers and ends up joining a group of runaway surfers. Will she find her brothers? Or something more?
8 The Leveller by Julia Durango (1,590 ratings)
This is a quick, action packed novel. I don't know how I feel about the VR game BUT I did like the Cuban setting inside the VR. If you've ever wanted to have a conversation with Hemmingway you'll be in good company reading this book.

This is actually an adult novel. But the main character is a hellhound trying to stop the end of the world. I definitely want to read this sequel!
10 Little Peach by Peggy Kern (1,555 ratings)
This is issue lit at it's finest. If you've ever wondered how young girls are tricked in to sex trafficking this is a brutally honest portrayal.
The only one I've read was Second Star and it was a really good Peter Pan retelling. I'm shocked it has so little reviews. As an aspiring author myself, I'm going to check out these under appreciated books and give them some love.
ReplyDeleteI've heard of a couple of these (Second Star, The Leveller) but I haven't read of any of them! I'm really interested in The Secrets of Lily Graves, though! I normally guess the twist, so I'm interested to see if I do with that one! Here is my TTT!
ReplyDeleteI've read Return Once More and loved it. Keep watching too for the sequel. Read Calvin and it was different but nothing I would read twice. I really want to read Second Star and Mistwalker.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I really liked The Secrets of Lily Graves! I want to read Return Once More, too, so it's good to see it featured favorably.

I have not heard of many on your list, but Black Dog and Little Peach sound really interesting. I will have to check them out.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I also had Second Star on my list! I haven't heard of a lot of these but, definitely going to be adding a couple of these to my TBR! Especially Black Dog! It looks so good! ;D Thanks for sharing!!

ReplyDeleteIt is important to keep in mind that doing your college homework is not as simple as it seems. Your teacher expects you to write your own work and not ask others to do it for you. In addition, it is illegal to ask others to do your homework for you, because it can make your grades lower.
