Review:
The Bloodlines series, much like Vampire Academy, is my guilty pleasure. I love reading about Adrian, Sydney and the whole gang. Returning to the world that Mead has created never fails to drawn me in and put a smile on my face.

This installment though left me wanting more. This is the 5th book in a 6 book series and this story was a lot of set up for what’s going to happen in the grand finale. I thought Silver Shadows moved rather slowly and then in the last 70 pages everything started happening which left the ending feeling rushed.

I did like watching Adrian grow in this novel though. Because Adrian has to deal with being separated from Sydney and the effects of spirit we get to see just how far he has come since his Vampire Academy days. Adrian is a completely different person and I love seeing this more grown up version of him.

My one big issue with Silver Shadows is that all of the secondary characters I loved in the previous novels (Jill, Eddie, Sonya, etc.) were nearly completely absent in this novel. The entire plot revolved around Adrian trying to find Sydney and while that was important it felt like everything else that had been so pivotal in the other novels no longer mattered.

Overall, this was a good installment but not my favorite. I think the next novel will be amazing but this one felt a lot like filler albeit a filler I enjoyed. I can’t wait to see what will happen in The Ruby Circle I have some high hopes!

  1. I still need to read this one - I wasn't too charmed with book 4, so I hope Silver Shadows picks up somewhat!
