Top 10 Books I would Love To See As A Movie/TV Show

Top Ten Books I Would Love To See As A Movie/TV Show (set in a perfect world...in which movies don't butcher the books we love)

1 The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater
I believe this has already been optioned for a movie and I would love to see it actually made. The setting/prose in this story is just so lovely.
2 White Cat by Holly Black
I think this would make a good TV show. I think the concept is really original and fun, I'd love to be immersed in this world.
3 Splintered by AG Howard
This is a creepy re-telling of Alice in Wonderland that would be fabulous as a TV series. I'd tune in weekly just to see Morpheus!
4 Shadow and Bone & Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
The shadow fold and the Darkling would be amazing on the big screen.
5 The Infernal Devices Series by Cassandra Clare
I won't sugar coat things. I really did not like the City of Bones movie. It looked kind of cheap and the dialogue was painfully cheesy. I would only want them to make these books in to movies in an absolutely perfect world where things wouldn't turn out horribly. Otherwise, leave them alone.
6 Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson
This would be a great coming of age movie. Also Peter Pan connection will already garner additional viewers and the historical parallels are phenomenal.
7 The Raven Boys & The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater
Yeah, this is the second Maggie Steifvater book I put on this list. Know what? Her writing is just that good! I think this series is intricate and has so many great characters you want to get to know slowly, it would make a fabulous TV show. Also Kavinsky, just saying, he would be amazing.
8 The Immortal Rules & The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa
I said in my review of the first book that it reminded me of Underworld and I Am Legend two of my favorite movies. This would make for a good TV show (similar to Revolution) or movie!
9 Hemlock by Kathleen Peacock
I though this story had a very Veronica Mars feel to it and while I was reading I thought it would make a great TV series.
10 Across the Universe series by Beth Revis
I think this would be a good TV show or Movie, there aren't nearly enough shows set on space ships that aren't overly sci-fi-y!

  2. Great list! I agree, Across the Universe would make a great set of movies or tv series and I would love to see Infernal Devices, but only if done well. The Immortal Rules would be so good as a movie! And Scorpio Races, I would love to see that. ~Pam

  3. I'm not familiar with any of these stories but it sounds like you've really enjoyed them and it is fun seeing one of your favorite books come alive on the big screen. Kelley at the road goes ever ever on

  4. I really want to read Hemlock. I haven't read any of these actually...but they all sound like good picks. There is going to be a new show called Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, which might satisfy Splintered fans.

  5. Absolutely to Scorpio Races and The Raven Boys, The Raven Boys would be an awesome tv show. As for The Infernal Devices I agree 100% I want for them to be a movie but it has to be close to perfect! With a perfect Will, Jem and Tessa :)

  6. I love Tiger Lily, but I don't think I could bear to see it on screen. The ending killed me -- it's not what I would expect of Pan and it kind of ruined the genesis of his character. And plus, I have such an unhealthy obsession over the 2003 movie, it's definitely clouding my judgement ;) Great list! I would love to see the Scorpio Races become a film someday too.

  7. Loved your list! I ran out of room for Scorpio Races and Raven Boys on my list. I'm not quite sure how I would handle carniverous horses on the big screen though! There would probably be some peeking at the screen through my fingers. I absolutely adored Splintered as well. There's never enough time to explore Wonderland in a movie, so I think you're right, tv series for that one!

  8. The Infernal Devices are also on my list. I like the City of Bones movie, but I have never read the book or the series. From what I saw in the movie, I like the The Infernal Devices more. But I do not know. Maybe if I read the books, I like them more :)
