Review:

For those of you who do not follow me on Twitter I have been suffering from this terrible sickness since Sunday. I guess I have some kind of viral thing coupled with severe dehydration (which is making me loopy) I have been in and out of the doctors office and for that reason have been unable to fully review Boys Of Summer. I intend to post a full review at a later date but seeing as how I am scheduled for the Blog Tour today I wanted to share with you the top 5 things I loved about Boys Of Summer to get you excited about this seriously awesome book (and what I am sure is going to be a seriously awesome sequel!)!

1. The Relationship between Toby & Tess

He is the 22 she is 17, Tess has crushed on Toby from afar, but maybe he has been crushing on her too? I loved the pacing of this relationship it was slow enough that it had the whole smoldering romance thing going on but it wasn't slow to the point that I wanted to slap either of the characters. I also liked that the relationship between them felt so real and natural. There was sweet, steamy and everything in between! I was really rooting for the two of them.

2. The Friendship between Tess, Adam, & Ellie

I liked how close all Tess was with her two best friend Adam & Ellie and that they fought! So often in books the main character has these too perfect relationships with her friends. In The Boys Of Summer Tess gets in fights with both Adam and Ellie and their friendship survives because it is a deeper connection then just that one fight. I also LOVED the fact that Adam didn't crush on Tess, he was just her friend and that was all he wanted to be.

3. The Onslow Boys

If the friendship between Tess, Adam, & Ellie was tight it had nothing on the friendship, comradery  and brotherly affection the Onslow Boys have for each other. Every time I read about these guys it was like watching one big bromance and I didn't want it to end! They were all great supporting characters.

4. When Tess Wanted Something She Went For It

I do not like wishy-washy heroines and Tess was not wishy-washy, at times she did pine incessantly over Toby but that made me like the guy more. And once Tess decided that he is the one she wants she pulled no punches and went after him. I like this take charge, don't wait for the guy to make the first move attitude! 

5. Tess Makes Mistakes

Because Tess has this take charge attitude she ends up getting in to trouble and making mistakes, potentially losing her best friend and her love interest. Tess very maturely deals with her choices and this made me like her all the more! She didn't try and lie her way out of the situation, she let the secret come out and lets the chips fall the way they may. She was responsible for the decision and dealt with the consequences.

6. The Ending

Ok I know I said only 5 but 6 had to be added because even after everything the ending still put a smile on my face and made me enjoy the book even more. I also has me eager to find out what happens in the next novel, An Endless Summer!
